May Vacation..Day #4

So I am reeling with thoughts for my "Why" questions and can't wait to start blogging about them. (I may actually work on two posts in one night!) But for now, I'm going to share day #4 of my May vacation.
This was another first for me. A trip to Ft. Bragg...
I have wanted to travel there for quite some time now, so I was excited!
There are two ways to get there from San Fran. Highway 101...which is 65 mph and a "straight" shot until you have to cut over to the coast. Or Highway 1...which is anything but straight, so definitely not 65 mph (unless of course you're planning on meeting Jesus along the drive)! I had no other reasoning as to why I wanted to travel the coastal road, other than the fact that I was hoping it would be a pleasant, scenic drive. Which for the most part it was...for 6 hours!!!
We made a quick stop at Muir Beach to check it out.

Then we stopped at a turnout that overlooked Stinson Beach. This spot had an incredible view! (Note: you will see a LOT of coastal flower shots in blog!)

I could not get over how blue the ocean was...I've been to Stinson Beach, but it looks so much different from above!

We stopped in Point Reyes Station for lunch and were on our way again!

The further north we drove, the more cliffs ran along the ocean:

One of the things that I wanted to see along the coast was the Point Arena Lighthouse. It was closed when we arrived, but here are a few shots from the road. I have discovered that I have a fascination with Lighthouses.

We arrived in Ft. Bragg about an hour before sunset, so we grabbed pizza and headed out to set up the cameras in hope of catching a sunset over the water. I think we got pretty lucky! :)

Aside from the fact that it took us so long to get there (and me being behind the wheel) it was a nice drive and a great way to end this day on our little trip!
